In Suzhou

As of now, i must say that i've been pretty blessed and i'm more or less nicely settled in my Suzhou University Hostel. Went out to explore more of Suzhou with the rest of the GIP people and i must say that i'm beginning to like this place more with every passing minute.

While Suzhou lacks the glitz of Shanghai and the cultural air of Beijing, it more than makes up for them with its rustic charm and laidback tempo. Here, its as though the East meets with West and both are equally confused about how are they going to co-exist together. In the midst of modern looking buildings, its not surprising to see traditional chinese ones. Nor should one be surprise to step out of a neon light, modern looking shopping area and discover a canal right beside or behind it. Quirky in its own way, i must say. Yet somehow, i like it =)

The next step would be to find myself a church here! I've managed to find 3 of them, so will be paying them visits real soon. Tomorrow marks the first day of my visit to my workplace. Feeling kinda excited and hyped up! Work will probably be tough, so i've gotta gear myself up for the challenge.

And in line with me starting work soon, look what today's QT brought me!

The foundation for happiness is a proper relationship with the Lord. But to fully experience that happiness, we must build on that foundation in practical ways.

Ten Rules for Happier Living

Give something away.
Do a kindness.
Give thanks always.
Work with vim and vigor.
Visit the elderly and learn from their experience.
Look intently into the face of a baby and marvel.
Laugh often—it’s life’s lubricant.
Pray to know God’s way.
Plan as though you will live forever—you will.
Live as though today is your last day on earth.
