wow. it has been a really really really long time since i last came here.

and i wonder who, if anyone, still visits here?

YF Camp is finally over. a huge block off my shoulders.

the camp has made me realise how much i missed through the 6 months of absence. the major ones, the minor ones and the minute ones.

so much has transpired.

and so it is, just like you said it would be ....

22 weeks away from home. 22 weeks of self discovery. 22 weeks of loses and gains. 22 weeks of joys and aches. 22 weeks of surrealism.

and at the end of these 22 weeks, i am ready to go home =)

up and down.

lets start with the down first: life can be so unpredictable sometimes and things happen out the blue.

one of my GIP mates was evacuated back to Singapore this afternoon; hospitalised on the 22nd, he suffered a freak accident in his bathroom and his left hand's nerves and tendons were severed. the doctors here managed to attach them back after a long gruelling operation, but its gonna take a while before he can freely move his fingers again ...

sigh. and to make things worse, he is a left hander. get well soon Tiek; and take care please Peiying.

up: after a long search, i finally found it. seeing it on the shelf brought a bright smile to my weary face; leaving the shop with the box in my left and receipt in my right made me grin from ear to ear.

at last, my 1995, live at Royal Albert Hall Les Miserables 2 CD box-set!

first meeting!

chatted with weijia, bingling and jinghui for the very first time! my soon to be travel buddies =)

can't help but feel a sense of elation, at the thought of finally being able to travel with my bangkok/bnj/chinese movie buddy once again!

16 more days to go!

and yet somehow at the same time, there lingers a tinge of sadness. from a matter totally different. for a reason in direct contrast.

i want to close this chapter and return back once again.

i really hate it when i let emotions get the better of me; i know i shouldn't, but i just can't help it sometimes.

16

That is the exact number of working days I have left before I officially end my attachment here in Suzhou. After that, it’s off to Tibet and then back home to Singapore.

Time really flies eh?

But before that, I’d have to get pass my e-logbook submission, final report and 2 Chinese essays.

Soon!

a death in the family.

a motorcycle and a sprawled figure. no explaination as to how it happened or who did it. a burst lung and a broken leg among other injuries.

how did it happen?

random posting

its 1 minute to 2am and here i am tapping away at my keyboard. under normal circumstances, i'd be asleep by now but hey, tmr's the last day of my May holidays! gotta make ample use of my time =P

i think the title is pretty appropriate since this post was drafted in a spur of a moment, inspired by the blog postings of my current GIP mate and soon-to-be NTU roommate(if nothing goes wrong that is), Allan!

whether he admits it or not, Allan is actually a super funny guy and reading his posts really cracks me up. so yes Mr Allan, if you are reading this, better feel honored that i'm mentioning you here =D

since this is suppose to be a random posting afterall, i am entitled to be as random as i can, so i intend to fully utilise this random-ness!

visiting Inner Mongolia was at right up there at the top of my list of "Things i want to do in China". initially, it almost didn't materialise due to the possibility of sandstorms. the possibility of sandstorms was so big that i even went so far as to plan to visit Jiu Zai Gou in place of Inner Mongolia. and yet somehow, one thing led to another: plans for the trip to Jiu Zai Gou didn't materialise and in its place came Inner Mongolia.

i am a happy person. and now with the confirmation of certain news, i know for a fact that i am gonna be an even happier one. why?

cause Ms Soon Weijia is gonna join me and my sister on our Tibet trip!

really enjoy travelling with church people cause somehow, its just different. memories of our 2004 Bangkok trip are still deeply etched in my mind and the prospect of being able to travel again is super exciting! in fact, it even gave me the motivation to head down to the travel agencies today and collect all the info i could find with regards to Tibet tour packages =)

so yes Ms Soon, faster give me the confirmations ok? then i can go book the tour! wahahaha.

24 more working days to go and i'll end my attachment. fast ain't it? in 24 work days, one chapter will close and another will open.
