employed =)

today marks the first day of my attachment period! was feeling quite excited at the opportunity to head down to the Univac factory for a "sightseeing" session, so i dragged myself out of bed at 6am in the morning and took the company shuttle bus down to the plant.

in terms of plant scale size, it isn't very big, but taking a good look inside at the production output will tell you that size isn't everything. my supervisors were pretty nice and friendly to me, so i guess its a promising start(or i hope so at least)!

from my conversation with them, i found out that prior to my arrival, there was actually another NTU student undergoing GIP attachment with them! this person deserves a mention here because she has set a really high standard for me to match. from the way they described here, i can really tell that she was one diligent and hardworking person. this really got my all psyched up and motivated; i want to carry on the example she has set too! i know that i can get a tad too lazy for my own good at times, but i really hope that i can be more "on the ball" and maintain the motivation i'm feeling now =)

left after taking my lunch at the factory and its off to do some personal admin. the rest of the day was then spent with some of the GIP people, hanging out and doing abit of shopping here and there. it's DVDs Day today, as all of us splurged big bucks(in RMB of course) on stacks of DVDs to keep ourselves occupied when we are bored or need something to kill time. all i can say is that inspite of the amount spent here, it isn't really that much when its converted back to S$. all i can say is that they were really cheeeeep and goooood! horray to cheap DVDs!

oh and yes, how can i forget this?

i made a discovery today, that the little stores at the back of our university hostel sells really good and cheap food! tomato fried rice for $3, mince meat noodle for $5, stir fried beef rice for $5, ... you get the picture. and oh, did i mention that its all in RMB and not S$? horray to cheap food too! and since its good and cheap, i full intend to sample every item on the menu before i leave the university =) one item everyday perhaps?

lastly, its group outing for all of us tomorrow! going to the Lion's Forest Garden and i'm looking forward to enjoying the sights, as well as the company. time to put my camera to better use! will try to upload them if i can, so be patient ok? nites!
