its been sooooo long since i've last blogged and so many things have happened. first and foremost, i've finally passed out of BMT, which means that i don't have to visit that forsaken island anymore! haha =) the whole passing out ceremony we had on the last day was a total waste of time, examplifying the well-known phrase "we rush to wait and wait to rush". woke up so darn early on that day, only to do nothing and waste the whole morning away. The ceremony proper started at 3+ in the afternoon and was over in less then 30 mins. Thats it. We were made to wait the whole day for a silly 30 mins ceremony that most of us weren't really interested in!?

BMT officially ended on the 9th and the YF camp began on the 10th. I must say that I had moments of joy and moments of sadness throughout the whole 4 days. Emotions ran high and there were instances when tempers were lost and tension levels were very high, but I'm glad that most, if not all of us, managed to behave in very christ-like and diplomatic ways. This being the first time as a group leader in a GPC camp, I couldn't help but feel frustrated when certain things didn't go as i had hoped or planned. Un-enthusiastic group members were my primary concern, as it was very easy for them to dampen the overall morale and mood of the whole group; all they have to do is whine and sulk. This way, things wouldn't get down and a whole domino effect of reactions will take place. Pretty messy and yucky situation IMHO. Looking back however, I believe I can sincerely say that i tried and did my best to be the best leader that I can; putting in my utmost effort to rouse their spirits and edging them on to play games or participate in the various activities. All this however, wouldn't have been possible if not for the fact that I received quite alot of encouragement from people around me; other group leaders who are going through the same roller-coaster ride as me, observant campers who notice our change in mood, etc. To all these God sent people, I have only one thing to say: THANK YOU =) One of the things that made me really glad that I went for this camp was the opportunities it provided for me to interact and get to know people around me much much better. I really enjoyed the titbit munching cum talking sessions I had with some of the other campers at the dark alley/dark staircase during the last two nights; it really open up my perspective of the people I thought I knew, giving me a better insight and understanding into their lives.

Well, now that the camp is over, the next big thing is the Thailand trip thats coming up TOMORROW! haha~ am feeling mega excited about it. Gonna stop here for now cause i'm gonna go meet Viv, Wendy, Syl and Co. so that we can go change some thai bahts~ ciao!
