i'm back!!! after a close-to-a-week hiatus, i finally find time to sit down to update my blog. i must say that its been a very packed 5 day in thailand with food, shopping, food and more shopping!
we reached bangkok on the 14th, at around 2+ in the afternoon. it was quite a shitty day though; first, we wasted close to an hour waiting for our passports to get stamped. next, while on our way to baiyoke sky hotel, our bus had a punctured tire! !#@?$!#@>???? by the time we reached baiyoke sky and checked in, it was already close to 6pm and by then, Chatujupt market(correct me if you know the actual spelling) was already closed! ARHG!if only we had been able to visit it ... imagine the possibilities ... haiz =P anyway, our hotel was really nice! even though it isn't exactly the poshiest of hotels, nor did it have architecturally beautiful exterior, it was a really comfy and cosy place. ok ... then again, maybe cosy isn't the right word to use since that IDIOT of a sylvester turned the air conditioning to a very low 10 degree cels. and freezed all our butts off that very night! our room is situated on the 47th storey, so you could more or less see the whole of bangkok and its skyline when you look out of the window. the dining area of the hotel is worth a mention as well, since it located on the 77th storey ... hehe imagine what will happen if the lift s break down! what fun the guests will have! *rubs hands in glee and laughs an evil laugh*
basically, the next few days were spent travelling around various parts of bangkok, visiting the many night markets and shopping centres. i would say that in general, the girls did more shopping then the guys, as there were more stuffs that appealled to them. for us guys, the cheap and nice t-shirts that were sold at the night markets were either too small or too big~ ... haiz ... there were quite a number of occasions when i saw something i wanted but couldn't get due to incorrect sizing ... VERY irritating and frustrating.well in the end, i was barely satisfied i guess, having bought one pair of engineered jeans, 5 t-shirts, a CamelBak and 2 Gameboy Advance games; could have been more though ... if only we had managed to visit the weekend bazaar .....
One of the things i find quite intriguing about bangkok was its people. firstly, before i actually set foot upon thailand, i had expected thai girls to be dark skinned and well, not very pleasing to the eye. boy was i wrong; i was totally amazed at how sweet, pretty and slim the girls over at bangkok were! it was actually quite hard to find a plump girl over there~!! unbelievable! and the guys there are one of a kind of well. FAGGOTS!!! haha ok it might not be correct of me to say this, but no matter where i turn, i couldn't help but notice lotsa VERY effeminated guys everywhere. they wear hairbands to keep their hair in place and preen themselves regularly to make sure they look "good". they "sashay" from place to place and they put make up! goodness .... the last thing that really amazed me when i was there was the skillfulness of the drivers in bangkok. tracffic rules and road lanes don't seem to apply of the roads of bangkok and anarchy rules on the roads, but surprisingly, i didn't hear much horning, nor was there any news of tracffic accidents. on top of that, bangkok has got quite a number crazy modders~! cars with exhaust the size of medium milo cans? seen quite a few ... and the craziest thing i chanced upon was this car owner who implanted a Skyline GTR RB26DETT engine into a Nissan Cefiro. madness i tell you ... these bangkok drivers ....
on the whole i guess that i did have a good time, even though the shopping, or rather the lack of it, left me wanting more. nextup would be the christmas party, then christmas itself and the year would be over! yayyyy~!~! wj: i really enjoyed the looonnngg talk we had; really got to know you better. it was like from 12+ to 530 am ... still can't believe that we talked through the nite. i'm really sorry that i dozed off at the last part ... haha getting old lah =P
