finally got the chance to go for a spin in an Evolution VII; a bright yellow Evo VII GSR to be exact. the ride sorta changed my perspective of the Evo i think.

having sat in a GTR R32 quite a few time, i guess its natural to compare the two since they're both performance cars. sitting in the skyline was an absolute joy imho; the fact that its sitting so low and close to the ground meant that its very stable, even at high speed. the twin turbos of its RB26DETT gave it a pretty impressive boost with each step of the accelerator. its like a beast, rarring to go.

with the Evo VII however, its a different ball game. the power is more subtle and it doesn't just kick in as you floor the accelerator. the car sits much higher than the GTR and the suspension system is much more rigid. the car sticks to the road really well even when we're taking turns and corners but the suspension is so solid and rigid that the car is perpetually bouncing up and down as we travel along the road. its really irritating after awhile, and i expect it to be worse for the driver ....

two cars, two experience, but the bottomline is that they're both fantastic.
