why must it be that nice people are almost always bullied? or taken advantage of?
was talking to my new boss today while doing some stuff; is was a conversation between two friends, where rank wasn't taken into consideration. she's a very nice warrant officer whom i got to know when i was in the formation shooting team. the only person who can beat my score almost everytime. a very motherly person to be precise. was so shock when she started tearing and then broke down and cried half way through the conversation. my heart really broke when she looked at me and told me this ....
"Samuel ... it doesn't pay to be a nice person. cause at the end of the day, the most miserable person will be yourself. what is done out of good-will is more often than not, unappreciated and taken for granted. no one will thank you for it"
she's a really nice person who'll go the extra mile to help people around her and she's a really capable person; its really sad to see such a person so worn out and jaded. why should this kind of things happen to such a nice person? it was as though at that point of time, she aged a good 10 years ... looked so haggarded. haiz.
made a promise to myself and asked God to help me: must always learn to appreciate people around me .. especially those who are super helpful/encouraging/supportive. must give them their due praises and thanks. and never, ever take them for granted.
