just came home from church; feeling very tired and worn out. played captain's ball with the YF-ers just now during YF; i think i'm getting old ... my joints are aching liao~

haha was looking forward to the hillsong concert tomorrow until jeff asked me a very good question just now: who's the organiser??? urgh ... sorta confirmed with vivien that new creation is the organising body .. hope that it doesn't turn out super charismatic and all. i cannot stand "miracle healing" but i hate "praying in tongue" even more ... i mean do these people even know what they're doing?!?? once asked this girl why she prays in tongue and how she goes about doing it. her reply? "oh just pray and make noises lor ... like an expression or an outlet of your feelings liddat. praying in tongue makes you feel good and makes you feel closer to god". note how much emphasis she made on feeling??? and why i refused to spell god with a captial G? i seriously think she got the whole concept of praying in tongue wrong .. then again, i think most people who pray in tongue are making this mistake as well ... too much emphasis is being made on "our feelings" .. but do they bother to cross reference it with the Bible and check up the background as to why do people speak and pray in tongue??? i don't think so ... IMHO, the "god" that they so call "pray" to is non other then themselves ... i mean you don't pray just simply because it makes you feel good lor ... but rather because you want to draw close to God. drawing closer to Him and feeling that you have drawn closer to him is NOT the same lor. for all you know, the evil one is making use of your feelings to mislead you and lure you away from Him. so i guess as true Christians, we really need to know the words of God well and hold true to what they say rather then just rely on what we think and feel =)
